Typical inner belts overlap velcro over velcro, doubling the thickness and locking the belt in place. Not Kore. Crafted with super tough scuba webbing, the Kore inner belt incorporates a section of flexible material which adjusts in unison with the outer belt, avoiding bulky overlap and improving adjustability.

Q & A
I haven't done any scientific testing myself, but Kore has done some during the development of the buckle design. The strongest part of the belt is the fabric and PowerCore™. I don't have any specific numbers for you, but I, personally, would trust it to hold up just fine in the strap drag scenario you mentioned. The weakest part of the belt is the buckle. Running it through pull tests designed for metal cables, the average breaking weight for the EDC buckle (smaller than the battle belt buckle) was 500lbs.
